Brief on Tony Elemelu Foundation

The Tony Elumelu Foundation was founded in 2010 by Tony O. Elumelu, CON, a serial entrepreneur and investor who has a commitment to philanthropy. The Foundation seeks to “institutionalise luck” and create an environment where entrepreneurship can flourish in a sustained manner. The Foundation’s vision is to establish the preeminent pan-African entrepreneurship programme and create 10,000 start-ups across Africa within the next 10 years that will generate significant employment and wealth.

The Tony Elumelu Foundation Forum is the largest gathering of African Entrepreneurs with about 1,000 from 55 African countries each year as the third year running. The foundation trains, funds and mentors businesses of 0 to 3 years and the entire process is done online. This year, another $5million will be disbursed to 1,000 Entrepreneurs with each given a seed capital of $5,000 and another $5,000 to expand the business after recorded growth.
